Do I have champagne taste?
Rumor has it that you are trying to impress everyone you’ve ever met during your big day. We are here to help you flawlessly pull it off.
Some flowers look like they cost a million bucks. Some flowers do cost a million bucks. There is a sweet spot between personal taste, and budget. I have created so many resources in attempt to help everyone understand pricing (floral calculator, price menu, estimates, price breakdown examples, etc.), but I recognize one piece of the puzzle is still missing. How are clients supposed to understand what is an expensive flower, and what is an affordable flower?
As you may know from reading my other blogs, prices of flowers can change daily. Season, location, demand, and growing conditions are just some of the key factors that go in to determining the cost of each flower stem. These factors set the wholesale cost. From there- all florists must add their standard mark-ups. This covers the cost of labor, overhead, and doing business. However, explaining all of this still doesn’t give you an understanding of where specific flowers land on the price gradient.
Budget is something everyone has. Your budget can be $100k, $10k, or even <$1k. Being honest about your budget with your florist can only help you get to your final plan quicker. If you give us no cap- we will design with our hearts desire. I can make an arrangement for $180 or $900 that can fit in the same space. Flower choice will make a huge difference.
There is no judgement if your taste falls on the “affordable” end. If your taste lands there, and your budget is decently high, you might be able to have a higher quantity of flowers! Cheap does not mean ugly, just as expensive does not mean beautiful.
If your taste is expensive, but your budget doesn’t fit the bill, you can downsize the physical design. Bud vases, smaller personal bouquets, cut arrangements that aren’t necessary. Sometimes less is more, anyways.
Luxury isn’t always loud. Sometimes luxury is doing whatever you want. Sometimes luxury comes from prioritizing. Sometimes luxury comes from an expensive color choice or a specific bloom that you have to have. Whatever luxury looks like to you, we’ll elevate it further.
Here is a visual of some common flowers & where (ish) they live on the price gradient, from most affordable to most expensive.
Remember- We are located in Seattle! This is currently accurate for us, but items could shift around this gradient at any moment. Pricing will vary depending on location, season, and many more factors.
